What is the purpose of a tennis court protective cover?

Tarpaulin 600g/m² blue (Le m²)Court tarpaulin: more than just protection, it's a long-term saving!

Many people will think that this tarpaulin is only useful for clay courts, but think again! Resin, porous concrete and asphalt courts, which account for over 80% of all courts in France, also need protection!

A tennis court tarpaulin is very important to protect your court from the many outdoor hazards.

This tarpaulin protects the surface of your land:

  • dead leaves that attract moss,
  • seeds that the birds drop on the court and make the roots grow,
  • by preventing too much water from infiltrating the surface of your court and considerably slowing the rise of moss by capillary action.
  • Prevents the court from getting too wet after a shower. Once the shower or thunderstorm has passed, the court remains dry overall, so you can play quickly after the bad weather.

This protection allows you to avoid overly regular court maintenance. In fact, the F.F.T. and other professionals recommend deep cleaning every year. So, with this court cover, you can space out in-depth maintenance and minimize maintenance costs!
Cleaning can be carried out every 2 or 3 years, for example.

Court protection covers are ideal when a tennis court is not in use for a certain period (vacations, winter months, etc.). It protects the surface during this period of inactivity and ensures that nothing can damage it.
We recommend that you sweep the tarpaulin from time to time to remove any debris that may have fallen on it (branches, leaves, pine thorns, seeds, etc.).
